  Did you participate in a Drama?

  i am bringing this up because even it was a lot of work, for the majority of the friends this was a rewarding experience.

  camaraderie, joking, costumes, props and when the time came the celebrity status of being in the drama.. back in the 50s and 60s, conventions could be as long as 8 days and from about 1966 the dramas became an integral part of the program.

  we had one per day and the brothers looked forward to their presentation.

  A troubling visit with a satisfying end.

  so, i've been out for 2 years now.

  just picked up and walked away from the wacky religion that tried to control every part of my life through fear and guilt.

  i've been wondering as the months go by what would happen when an elder finally showed up at my door and pressed the issue as to why i ceased all activity and then tried to reactivate me.

  Amazing that a hall already shares by 3 congregations is to be sold off and the Publishers told to drive an additional hour to get back and forth to the meeting in a hall already shared by 4 congregations, now to be 7. Never heard of this.

  The organization must really be in dire straits.

  Circuit Overseer say. . .

  last night i had to suffer through the bs spouted by the new co. some garbage about the bible transforming us as people.

  he went on and on about how we can look good to people at the hall who see the outside, but the bible will tell us what we are inside.. then he proceeded to use a few select verses to say sex is bad and so is the desire for it.

  a healthy bank account or savings is wrong, shouldn't have that either.

  So again no talk about developing the fruitage of the spirit, displaying Christlike compassion, or caring for the sick, elderly and fatherless boy.

  How are they then the true Christians again? Sounds more like a Cult to me...

  One Person Baptized at Circuit Assembly

  i went to the circuit assembly with my wife yesterday.

  i have to keep peace in the family.

  there were less than 1,000 people for both the morning and the afternoon sessions.

  Australia Branch to end magazine printing

  just one week from the zone overseer's visit is the announcement that the magazine production by the australia branch will end in a few months.

  the task being transferred to the japan branch.

  while i'm not 100% certain, i understand that this effectively ends all major printing bar perhaps tracts, handbills and other loose items.

  Perhaps for now they are consolidating printing into Japan...next step will be to bring printing back to an absolute minimum. Could be that magazines first go digital only and books can be sea freighted. Next these go digital only too. Time will tell....

  Thans for posting. Another part that stood out to me was "can you Pioneer". Then a schedule is displayed on how to Pioneer on top of a full-time job and when you have Health limitations. Just seeing the schedule is tiresome. You never can do enough in this Works-oriented religion. How about some focus on caring for the sick, elderly and fatherless boy in the congregation. No just peddling the cult literature.

  Checklist for Reviewing Congregation Accounts
  
  Does the congregation have an approved resolution for making monthly contributions in support of Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction worldwide? Does the congregation have approved resolutions for making contributions to the Traveling Overseer Assistance Arrangement and the Global Assistance Arrangement?
  
  Are the donations to the worldwide work from the contribution box and the congregation’s resolved monthly donations being forwarded to the branch office each month?
  
  Review the average balance of funds held by the congregation, whether locally or with the branch office as funds on deposit, by reviewing recent Monthly Congregation Accounts Reports (S-30). Is the balance in harmony with what the branch office recommends to care for congregation and Kingdom Hall operating expenses? If the balance appears to be larger than what is needed, encourage the elders to consider contributing the excess funds to the organization.
